After the showing of 55 full-lenght films, flashes and many red carpets, even this edition of the Venice Film Festival has come to its end.
Altough the golden lion left for Sweden with the director Roy Anderson, Italy can still smile for the great satisfaction of winning the two Coppe Volpi with Saverio Costanzo’s promising movie “Hungry Hearts”. Awarded the two protagonists of the film, Alba Rohrwacher and Adam Driver, who played the roles of a young married couple that started their relationship with a random encounter in a restaurant’s toilette.
The great prize of jury was given to Joshua Oppenheimer’s documentary “The look of silence” about the indonesian massacre in the 60’s,  “This film is a masterpiece, and watching it felt like seeing your children growing up, it is a great of work of dignity, it really moved me” this was the comment of one of the main actors. The silver lion went to Andrej Konchalovskij for the film “The Postman’s White Nights”, while the very beautiful and emotional Ambra Angiolini awarded “Court” by Chaitanya Tamhane with the Opera Prima prize.
The 71st edition of the Venice Film Festival focused on the essence: literature, crisis, war and existential discomfort were the main themes of a festival in which the favorite winner was “Pasolini” by Abel Ferrara.

with love, Elena

    Bel post!
