Mugler’s philosophy

Stilista, fotografo e creatore dell’omonima casa di moda, Thierry Mugler è il classico esempio di genialità multitasking.
Francese, classe 48, si trasferisce a Parigi nel 1970, dove lavora come vetrinista e nel tempo libero si dedica alla sua vera passione, disegnare abiti.
La sua prima linea Cafè de Paris, datata 1973, anticipa di due anni il lancio del suo brand.
Noir, storico ed irriverente, lo stile Mugler è stato si da subito apprezzato da numerose star del calibro di Madonna, Sharon Stone e Diana Ross.
Eclettico come pochi, trae ispirazione da tutto ciò che lo circonda, le sue collezioni rimandano a film, eventi storici e perfino al mondo degli insetti.
Nel 2003 però Mugler abbandona il mondo dell’abbigliamento per dedicarsi ai profumi, collaborando anche con l’azienda francese Clarins. Nel 2013, dopo tre anni di Nicola Formichetti (direttore creativo Diesel), Mugler torna alla guida del suo brand con il compito di unire le varie anime creative della maison in un’unica filosofia chiamata Mugler.

Stylist, photographer and producer for the namesake maison, Thierry Mugler is a classical example of a multitasking genius. French, born in 1948, he moves to Paris in 1970, works there as window dresser and casts his free time to his real passion, designing dresses. His first line Cafè de Paris of 1973, comes just two years before the official launch of the brand. His style, noir, historic and irreverent is soon appreciated by several stars such as Madonna, Sharon Stone and Diana Ross. Eclectic like few others, he gets inspiration from everything that surrounds him, his collections recall movies, historical events, or even the insect’s world. In 2003 Mugler leaves the world of clothing to dedicate his time to perfumes, collaborating with the french brand Clarins. In 2013, after three years with Nicola Formichetti (art director for Diesel), Mugler comes back to guide his brand with the idea of uniting the different creative souls in the maison under a unique philosophy called Mugler.
