the real trend setter

Dark red lips that shined on a sharp-cornered face framed by a voluminous mass of hair, that’s the portrait of the charismatic and androgyne beauty of the Casati Marchioness. An Icon of the Milanese Renaissance of late XIX century, the Marchioness was a young heiress and muse, who inspired many artists of her time. Esthete par excellence, she managed to anticipate and re-interprete the times, so much that she was defined by Marinetti “the world’s biggest futurist”. The Casati Marchioness represented the classical metamorphosis or the artis that becomes artwork, her canvas was the white skin of a body she painted with black dresses and decorated with eccentric hairstyles, jewels, furs and feather boas. Ancestor of the modern figure of the trend setter, she invented the actual concept of celebrity. Opulence, baroque beauty and byzantine charm were the symbols of a style that still today inspires cinema, art and fashion.

With love, Elena.

  1. Ecco dove ti distingui dagli altri blogger.
