A man, a myth: YSL

After my foray of the other day, in YSL boutique, I could not help but talk about one of the masters of the world’s style: Yves Saint Laurent. When I look at his defilee on you tube, they remind me the creations that have made the history of women’s wardrobe: from smoking for women, to the Saharian worn by Veruschka, from blazers to contamination between art and fashion (see the Mondrian dress) , even when their pairing was not as obvious as today. The essential features of his style, always feminine, have made him one of the most popular designers in the world and even if has passed four years after his death and we see endless rows of people on a “pilgrimage” to the urn containing his ashes in the beautiful Majorelle gardens in Marrakech, there is definitely a reason. He was a man of great heart, and in his heart was all the love for France where he lived for years: the love for her “Marianne”, Laetitia Casta, who was his muse since she became a top model (remember the look for the Festival of Sanremo where the girl from Corsica was presenter), his love for its artists (Matisse first of all) and love for its great literary (Proust in particular). So I decided to give an homage with a series of images that will remain in the hearts of the fashion addict forever, because you know, the first French love, you never forget …
