Il 10 aprile e’stata lanciata sul mercato l’ennesima collazione eco-sostenibile di H&M. In poche ore c’e’ stato il sold out nello store di San Babila a Milano, tanto che se andate sul sito del brand, non e’ più’ possibile acquistare online i capi. Perché’ tanto successo? Innanzitutto perché’ la collezione “rispetta l’ambiente” e poi perché’ e’ indubbiamente bella. Ma quando e’ nato il rispetto della moda nei confronti dell’ambiente che ci ospita? Tutto nasce negli anni novanta, che furono il decennio di grande cambiamento per la moda in generale e soprattutto della consapevolezza dei consumatori riguardo ai mutamenti climatici. La risposta della moda al problema del riscaldamento globale? E’ stata la proposta di un abbigliamento ecologico. La pioniera a riguardo fu Katharine Hamnett che fu la prima a creare tshirt in cotone organico. Poi fu la volta di People Tree che vende abiti organici ed equosolidali, ed arrivo’ anche Helen Storey che lancio’una linea di abbigliamento riciclato: tutto questo negli anni novanta. Dopo di loro, negli anni duemila, nacquero Howies che offre tshirt di cotone recuperato e street wear che puo’essere riciclato dopo l’uso, come Worn Again che propone scarpe da ginnastica create con materiali riciclati. Ma non solo i giovani stilisti emergenti che abitano il nord Europa sono attenti all’ambiente: anche Proenza Schouler o Diane von Furstenberg hanno creato le loro linee di abbigliamento che rispetta l’ambiente: “e non immaginatevi abiti hippy color corda. The 10th of April has been launched the ultimate eco-friendly collection by H&M. In very few hours in the San Babila store in Milano everything went sold out, so much that if you go on the brand’s website you can’t even buy the clothes online. The reasons of such a big success? First of all, the collection respects the environment, and then it is truly beautiful.When did this sense of respect towards the environment in the fashion’s world started? Everything started in the 90’s, which were a decade of great changes, in general in the fashion and mostly in the awareness of the consumers about the climate change. The answer of the fashion world to the global warming is proposing a new kind of ecological clothing. The pioneer in these new horizons was Katherine Hammett, the first in creating organic cotton t-shirts. Then came the time of People Tree, that sells fair trading and organic clothes, then also Helen Storey launched a clothing collection all made out of recycled material. After them, from the 2000 on, new brand s were born, like Howies that sells t-shirts made of recycled cotton and street wear that can be recycled after the use, or like Worn Again that proposed sneakers made out of recycled materials.But,the young stylists from northern Europe are not the only ones who care about the environment: also Proenza Schouler or Diane von Furstenberg created their eco-friendly clothing collections: “and don’t figure yourself hippy clothes.
