The sandal: ITStory.

Lo sapevate che i sandali sono le calzature piu’ antiche della storia? Gli antichi egizi, per esempio, li usavano per proteggersi la pianta dei piedi quando macellavano il bestiame e,grazie a mini zeppe, li mantenevano rialzati da terra e quindi piu’ puliti. Soltanto pero’ gli anni ’20 videro la nascita del sandalo vero e proprio: le vacanze in Costa Azzurra si facevano sempre piu’ frequenti per l’alta societa’ e le signore bene, per andare in spiaggia, usavano questo tipo di calzature. I primi creatori di sandali furono Andre’ Perugia (sandali in pelle scamsciata e serpente) e il nostrano Salvatore Ferragamo, che “fu ai piedi” di tutte le star di Hollywood. Solo alla fine della seconda guerra mondiale ci fu il vero e proprio sdoganamento del sandalo come lo vediamo oggi, perche’ gli esperti di Vogue giudicavano troppo audace indossarlo in citta’. Gli anni ’70 videro la ri-nascita degli zatteroni e  con la fine degli anni ’90, ritorno’ il trend del sandalo alla schiava. Solo pero’ nel 2007/ 2008 ai piedi delle modelle ricomparvero i famosi “gladiators”: l’antica Roma e’ di nuovo tra noi…

Did you know that sandals are the most ‘ancient footwear of the fashion history? The ancient Egyptians, for example, used them to protect the soles of the feet when slaughtered livestock and, thanks to mini wedges, kept them up off the ground and therefore cleaner. But only the ’20s saw the birth of the sandal itself: the holidays on the French Riviera became more and more’ frequent for high society and the ladies, to go to the beach, used this type of footwear. The first creators of sandals were AndrePerugia (leather and snake sandals) and our national Salvatore Ferragamo, that “he was at the feetof all the Hollywood stars. Only at the end of the Second World War there was the actual clearance of the sandal as we see it today, ’cause the experts at Vogue judged too bold to wear  them in the city. The 70s saw the re-birth of the rafts and the end of the ’90s, see the return of the trend of the gladiator sandal. But only in the 2007/2008  reappeared at the foot of the models the famous “Gladiators”: the ancient Rome it’s here again

  1. Chi sapeva tutte queste cose!!?!!?! La storia dei sandali, le loro evoluzioni, Ele trovo pazzesco questo post e dobbiamo ammettere che l’Andrè Perugia aveva guardato lontano!! Bravissimaaaaaa

  3. Devo ammettere che girando per il tuo blog sono rimasta piacevolmente colpita! Ero partita un po’ prevenuta: tutte queste star che ora fanno le blogger… che poi ognuno è libero di farlo, per carità, ma spesso ho trovato molta ostentazione e pochi contenuti. Nel tuo blog, invece, ho trovato non solo contenuti interessanti, come quelli di questo post, ma anche una scrittura interessante e godibile!
